GOUDA-DESIGN

Gouda copies, look-alikes, home painters, fakes or "made to deceive" - Part 11.

Repeated note - "By showing these items from eBay or Marktplaats.nl (and other sites) we do not imply that the sellers had any knowledge they are/were fakes or made to deceive. They are shown as examples as we believe it is in every ones interest to see them."

Seen on Marktplaats.nl at the end of March 2010. Yet another Rozenburg den Haag fake vase. Very poor backstamp which should not fool anyone! You can see other similar fake Rozenburg items on our other Gouda Copies pages.

All three items below are fakes. Seen on Marktplaats.nl again at the end of March 2010.

Look at the style of marks on the vase below, from the same hand as many PZH fakes - see the other pages of Gouda Copies.

See Gouda Copies Part 9 for another fake Colenbrander 'Fanatsie' bowl using the same remake mould!

Notice the very poor painting on the close up of this fake PZH 'Makkum' vase. The style of the marks (look at the 'G' in Gouda) is again the same as many others on these Gouda Copies pages!

Our old friend from eBay (r.............0) from Krimpen aan den IJssel in Holland. This dealer does not accept returns -why? A Zenith/Gelria style decor fake. Wrong model number. Rotten painting - just awful! Same style of fake marks as many others on the Gouda Copies pages. Please, please check before you buy from this dealer.

Yet again the same fake marks as we have seen so often. The painter of these fakes must have worn their fingers down to the bone as there are some may of them about. Don't be misled, think twice. Look at the marks, ask yourself do they really look right, is the quality of the painting what you would expect? If it looks wrong then it probably is wrong. There are plenty of genuine, high quality items for sale and the difference is easy to see. Don't waste your money. These were on Marktplaats.nl in April 2010.

This fake Goedewaagen Delft Polychroom (Polychrome) vase was initially on eBay in April 2010 by a seller in the USA but was soon removed. Described by one collector who saw it - "the painting of this ruptured duck is pretty terrible." Enough said!

These items below were on Marktplaats.nl during April and May 2010.

A fake Velsen vase. As one respected collector said - "......and the VV stands for Valse Velsen (False Velsen)!"

Fake Altorf & Lanooy parrot figurine. The crude mark on the parrot is copied from the marks book of M. Singelenberg - Van Der Meer.

With thanks to Joop Nobel, Friggo Visser, Ron Tasman & The GPB and all other vigilant collector friends from Holland the UK and around the world for their help and technical information.
