Small vase - PZH - 1899

7.5cm H x 5.5 cm W

Very small high glaze vase in a simple transitional Art Nouveau decor. The more traditional PZH high glaze decors were to appear around 1903. Painted by Dirk Jacobus Cornelis Verhaar. Notice the tall 'little house', typical of early pieces, with the back to back 'EE' of Egbert Estié the co-founder (with Adriaan Jonker Krijnszoon) of Zuid-Holland. Dated 1899 - the 'B'. The meaning of the 'X' is unknown - perhaps a destination code.
