Candlestick - PZH - circa 1935 "Christogram religious figure" 11.2cm H by 10.5cm D Hans Mengelburg (1885-1945) was the designer of this Catholic religious candlestick. The intertwined 'X' and 'P' is known as a Christogram. Formed from the Greek letter 'X' or 'Chi' and 'P' or 'Rho'. In English translation, the Greek term 'Xristos' "generally" translates to 'Christ'. Here the candlestick is in a mottled slightly yellowish but clear matte glaze and just shows the stamped 'Holland'.
